Tai Ji Kungfu

    Taijiquan was deviced in Chenjiagou village, Wen county, Henan province about three hundred years ago, created by Chen Wangting. It is on the basis of the other branches of Chinese traditional Wushu, Chinese philosiphy and Chinese medical science. 
    Taijiquan has several features: First of all while practising Taijiquan, performers body is naturally extended and relaxed. Keeping the movements straight, practising with ease and lightness. Secondly, while practising, the motion is even while balanced. The breath should be deep and even. Moving softly and breathing evenly. The mind should be tranquil but alert with consciousness commanding the whole body. Thirdly, practising Taijiquan requires the hands, eyes, body and limbs performing as a whole, the legs as the base and the waist as the axis.
    Taijiquan's fascination lies in its excellent fit-keeping and mind-cultivating fuction. It brings about excellent efforts to people of all ages.
the history of Taiji
Taijiquan was deviced in Chenjiagou village, Wen county, Henan provice about three hundred years ago. Its creator was Chen Wangting . On the basis of the traditional boxing sects handed down in his family from generation to generation, absorbing the other branches of Chinese Wushu, introducing Chinese philosiphy and Chinese medical science, Chen Wangting created this wonderful form of Chinese boxing.
At the beginning, Taijiquan was only spreaded among Chen family members till a master Chen Changxing taught the first person with another surname. From that time Taijiquan started to spread quickly.It has been developed to various styles like Yang, Wu and Sun etc.

Chen-style Taiji includes TaijiQuan, pushing hands, Taiji Da Gan ( Long and big stuff ).
Taiji Quan is divided into Laojia ( traditional forms ) and Xinjia ( new forms ). Laojia was created by Chen Fake, 17th generation of Chen family. Because the practitioner move in high stance and big circle drawed, also called Big circle form. It has two forms, the first form has 83 movements, which is characterized as slow, simple and soft moves. The second form is also called Paochui 
( Cannon fist ) has 71 movements, which is characterized as quick, completed, hard and explosive moves. 
The Xinjia, new forms also called Xiao Quan Quan, small circle fist. Xinjia also has two kinds of forms. One was creat by Master Chen Youben in Chenjiagou, the other is created by Chen Youben's disciple Chen Qingping, the latter is popular in Zhao Bao town, hence its name Zhao bao jia.
Pushing hands, Tuishou has single pushing, dual pushing, step sixed pushing and moving pushing. 
Tuishou, pushing hands is an exercise or drill of Taiji Quan practiced by two person. It's the application of Taiji forms. The hand move of Tuishou has eight feature. Peng, Lu, Ji, An, Cai, Lie, Zhou, Kao. 
Peng, Use the wrist to receive and block the upcoming force.
Lu. use hands to ward off the coming force aside or backward.
Ji. sqeeze and press forward to force the opponent having no response ability.
An. Push and press forward or down.
Cai. draw down.
Lie. Spin the coming force aside.
Zhou. Spin the forarm to attack with elbow.
Kao. Squeeze and press the opponent outside with shoulder, back and hip. 
the features of Taijiquan
Taijiquan has several features: First of all, while practising Taijiquan, performers body is naturally extended and relaxed. Performers must keep their movements straight, practising with ease and lightness, and holding them steadyly throughout. Secondly, while practising, the motion is even while balanced. The movements are like the floating cloud in the sky.The breath should be deep and even. Moving softly and breathing evenly. In practising Taijiquan, the mind is tranquil but alert, with consciouness commanding the whole body. As a high degree of concentration is emphasized, quality movements are insured and physical logical functions are regulated. That is why some people like Taijiquan as physical exercises and conscious exercises. Thirdly, practising Taijiquan requires the hands, eyes, body and limbs performing as a whole, paying great importance and priority to the shift of the legs with the legs as the base and the waist as the axis. Movements are light and slow. Each part of the body is in constent motion. 
When practising Taijiquan, the practitioner should make the Qi go down to Dantian, keeping balance, integrating the inside and outside, and never using clumsy force. One should guide the force by the will. Where there is the will, there is the force.
